Fire Service and Civil Defence yesterday rescued a 13-year old boy, trapped in manhole in Agrabad Gosaildanga area of the city, after one-hour frantic effort. The boy was identified as Mosharof Hossain, 13, son of Abdur Rouf, hailed from Cumilla. Hearing the boy’s scream at around 12 pm locals informed it to the fire fighters. On information they rushed to the spot and rescued the boy at around 2pm, said Rezaul Karim, senior station officer of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence. “We have sent the boy to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment,” added Rezaul. “The boy is now out of danger. He came from Cumilla to visit her relatives at Agrabad two days ago. In the noon he fell into the open manhole,” said Dr Azizur Rahman Siddique, civil surgeon of Chattogram.
