Anis Ahmed, executive editor of The Daily Observer, passed away at his Mohammadpur residence in the capital on Monday morning. He was 64, reports UNB. Anis Ahmed, who also worked with BSS and Reuters, had been suffering from various diseases and breathed his last at about 8:30 am, said family sources. Ahmed, a permanent member of the Jatiya Press Club, left behind wife, a daughter, a son, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Jatiya Press Club after Zohr prayers. Press Club president Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Farida Yasmin expressed deep shock at the death of the senior journalist.
