GAIBANDHA: Members of rover-scouts here on Saturday planted saplings of various trees on 40 college campuses in the district marking centenary of the organization, reports BSS.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Mizanur Rahman formally inaugurated the plantation programme on the campus of Gaibandha Technical School and College by planting a sapling of timber tree as the chief guest.
Principal of the college Engineer Jobaidur Rahman, district rover secretary Uzzal Chakrabartee and teachers and students of the institute were present on the occasion.
Uzzal Chakrabartee said as many as 200 saplings of fruit bearing, timber and medicinal trees were planted on the college campuses on the occasion.
The programme was implemented here as part of the plan of the central committee of the organization, he added.
Like other colleges, the saplings of medicinal, timber and fruit bearing trees were also planted on the campus of Gaibandha Adarsha Degree College.
