Ahsan Ullah Montu, former Bangladesh national team footballer died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday at his residence at Tejgaon in the capital at 7pm. He was 56.
Montu, who played for Mohammedan Sporting Club also, was a defender and played with reputation in his decade long career in the top level of the domestic soccer.
Montu, began his career in premier level, in 1981-82 season with Farashganj Sporting Club then joined in Brothers in next season and played for the Gopibagh outfit for two season in 1983-84.
After the playing career Montu was also an enlisted coach of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
He left behind his wife, two daughters and one son to mourn his death. The Namaj-e Janza of Montu was held on premised of the BFF Bhaban and was buried at the Azimpur Graveyard yesterday.
Mohammedan Sporting Club, Bangladesh Football Federation, Sonali Otit Club, Sommilito Krira Paribar, BSHA, Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) condoled the death of the for national booter.
