UGC approves Tk 4643.50cr for 40 public universities

University Grants Commission (UGC) yesterday has approved Tk 4643.50 crore budgets for 40 public universities in the country, reports UNB.
The 151th Full Commission meeting of University Grants Commission (UGC) presided over by UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan was held yesterday.
The Full Commission approved the revised budget (non-development) for 2017-2018 fiscal year and budget (non-development) for 2018-2019 fiscal year for 40 public universities of the country. The budget for 40 public universities for 2017-2018 fiscal year was Tk. 4152.01 crore which was increased to in the revised budged to Tk. 4324.61 crore. Budget for UGC for 2017-2018 fiscal year was Tk. 37.30 crore which was increased to Tk. 37.80 crore in the revised budget. The meeting also approved the budget of Tk. 4643.50 crore for 40 public universities of the country for 2018-2019 fiscal year and budget Tk.38.05 crore for 2018-2019 fiscal year for UGC.
The Full Commission also unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound grief at the death of Chief Justices father, Education Secretarys sister and Bangladesh University of Professionals Vice-Chancellors mother.
