Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said she had the highest admiration for Bangalee Freedom Fighters and described them as the vanguards of the nation, according to a press release.
“They are the true vanguards of Bangladesh,” she told Muhammad Musa, Secretary-General of the BCS Freedom Fighter and Mujibnagar Officers and Employees Association. Musa met the Indian external affairs minister at her residence at Safdar Jang road, New Delhi.
Gen Dr V K Singh, State Minister of External Affairs was also present during the meeting.
“The ideology of the Liberation War of Bangladesh for which the Freedom Fighters of Bangladesh and the Allied Forces of India fought together, spilt blood together, and gave their lives together to help build and make Bangladesh one of the most respected countries in the world that it is today,” she added.
Musa, presented the Indian minister a copy of his book “Bangladesh Wins Freedom.”
