Police arrested four 'Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men' yesterday for allegedly demanding toll from the officer-in-charge of Nandail Police Station, reports UNB. The arrestees are Raju, former vice-president of Nandail upazila unit BCL, its organising secretary Royal, and activists Titu and Quamrul, said OC Quamrul Islam Miah. He said Wahedul Islam Faisal, former general secretary of the upazila unit BCL, demanded Tk 20,000 from him over phone on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. An altercation ensued between the BCL men and the OC when they went to the police station yesterday for collecting the money, Quamrul said. At one stage, police arrested them. Later, they were handed over to Detective Branch of police. A case was filed against them.
