DU Shahidullah Hall Trust Fund receives Tk 15 lakh donation
Dhaka University (DU) authorities here yesterday received Taka 15 lakh donation to increase the capital of Dr. Mohammad Shahidullah Hall Trust Fund at the university. Provost of Shahidullah Hall Professor Dr. Md. Ainul Islam handed over a cheque for Tk 15 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin yesterday at the Vice-chancellors office to enhance the capital. This amount has been collected from various internal sources of the hall. Out of the income of this trust fund, every year eight meritorious students of the residential hall of DU will be given scholarship, said a DU press release.
Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M. Imdadul Hoque, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. SM Abdur Rahman and acting registrar Md Enamuzzaman were present.
NSU Syndicate meeting held
The 61st meeting of the North South University (NSU) Syndicate was held yesterday at the University Syndicate Hall, says a press release. Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-chancellor, NSU chaired the meeting while representatives from Education Ministry, University Grand Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) and members of the Board of Trustees discussed on different agenda. Multiple academic decisions were formulated in the meeting. The Pro Vice-chancellor (Designate) Prof Gias U Ahsan, Treasurer Prof. Gour Gabinda Goswami and Registrar A. H. Lutful Hassan were present in the meeting.
