Rebeka Dipa looking forward to return to acting

Rebeka Dipa, a model and actress known for acting in the films ‘Shankhonad’ directed by Abu Sayeed and ‘Nondito Noroke’ directed by Belal Ahmed, wants to revive her acting career once again after a six-year hiatus.

The audience can easily recognise the actress if they can remember her portraying the character Bakula in the film ‘Shankhonad’ opposite actor Zahid Hasan.

The actress first appeared on the big screen with the film the ‘71-er Rang Pencil’ directed by Mannan Hira in 1991, while in the same year, she made her debut on the small screen with the tele-drama ‘Babar Jonmodin’.

Dipa was a member of ‘People’s Little Theatre’ in 1995, and now she is an active member of ‘Loko Natyadal’ since 1997. On behalf of the drama troupes, she worked in notable stage plays such as ‘Taposshi O Tarangini’, ‘Konjush’, ‘Padma Nadir Majhi’ and others.

She also performed under the direction of popular playwright, writer and director Humayun Ahmed in the telefilm ‘Jonok’. Besides, Dipa acted in the tele-drama ‘Briddhashrom’, scripted by Tazin Ahmed and directed by Ejaj Munna.

Dipa acted last time in the drama serial ‘Choragoli’, which was aired on ATN Bangla in the year of 2012.

After ‘Choragoli’, the actress did not appear in any other projects as she was busy with her son Aarish and her family. She even took up the profession of teaching in a school located in Uttara of the capital for more than a year.

About her desire for coming back to acting, Dipa said, “Since my childhood, I have always had liking towards acting and I haven’t really left acting from my mind. Therefore, I am looking forward to comeback to acting once again. I strongly believe that if I can continue acting once again, I can present good works.”

“As I had prepared myself for acting before entering into this arena, so I intend to busy myself once again in acting. I hope that the directors would consider my enthusiasm.”

To note, apart from acting, Rebeka Dipa has appeared as a model in numbers of television commercial and she hosted a television programme titled ‘Music Plus’ for four years on Channel i.
