A man has been stabbed to death allegedly by his brother-in-law over a land-related dispute in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Mansur Miah, son of Rashid Miah of Atokura village in the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Nasirnagar Police Station Md Abu Zafar said Mansur had an argument with her sister-in-law (brother's wife) Shefa Begum on Saturday morning over the share of their homestead.
At one stage, Shefa informed her brother Ahammad Miah, also a resident of the village, of the matter over phone, he said. Soon, Ahmmad rushed in and swooped on Mansur and his brother Layes and stabbed them in the abdomen with a sharp weapon, leaving them injured.
Mansur was first taken to Sadar Hospital and then sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Sunday, the OC said.
