Speakers at seminar yesterday stressed the need for taking time-befitting work plans and implementing those for utilizing the huge potential of light engineering industry in the country, reports UNB.
If investment in light engineering industries would increase, modern technologies could be introduced and the entrepreneurs could be trained well, this sector would bring better outcome in near future, they said.
Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) organised the seminar titled ‘Sustainable Growth by Manufacturing Engineering’ at CIRDAP auditorium.
In Bangladesh total investment in light engineering sector is only 15 billion US dollar against the demand of USD 7 trillion light engineering products in the global market, they said.
The speakers said if productivity in the light engineering sector could be raised and production of world class product is possible through introduction of Computerised Numerical Control (CNC) instead of present analogue system, they opined.
