Nat’l polls schedule in Oct: EC Secy

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed yesterday said the schedules of the eleventh national parliamentary election to be announced in late October, reports UNB. The EC official made the comment in response to a journalist's query after attending a meeting arranged over the law and order measures for Basail municipality election at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in the noon. "Basail Municipality is a small municipality, but the Election Commission puts emphasis on every election," he said. All the preparation for holding a fair, free, peaceful and acceptable election has been initiated, he further said. "I hope the elections of the Basail Municipality will be held in a festive manner on 30th June," he added.
