Laxmipur: Police yesterday recovered the body of a fisherman who was abducted by forest robbers from a shoal of the Meghna River in Ramgati, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Saidul Hawladar, a local fisherman of Ramgati.
Local people said two days earlier some forest robbers attacked a fishing trawler and abducted two fishermen- Saidul Hawladar and Abul Kalam from char Abdullah area.
Later in the morning locals spotted Saidul's body which was floating on the river and informed police.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The other abducted fisherman still remains missing. Officer-in-charge of Ramgati Police Station Arisul Haque said they were trying to rescue the abducted fisherman.
