Bangladesh ‘A’ team led by all-rounder Mossadek Hossain Saikat traveled to Cox’s Bazar to play a three four-day match series against their Sri Lankan counterparts yesterday. The Bangladesh second string team will play the first two four-dayer of the three-match series at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar, starting on Tuesday (June 26).
Though the board earlier announced the squad, they did not name the captain, who leads the hosts against the tourists. The BCB on Thursday declared Saikat as the captain of the Bangladesh ‘A’ team in the home series against the Islanders.
Last series against Ireland ‘A’ team, Nazmul Hossain Shanto led Bangladesh ‘A’ team but he placed in Test squad against West Indies this time around.
The Sri Lanka ‘A’ Team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on 23 June to play a three four-day matches and as many one-dayers.
The third and last four-dayer along with a three one-day series will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
