KHULNA: The colorful passing out parade marking the induction of A/2018 batch of new entry sailors of Bangladesh Navy was held at BNS Titumir parade ground in the city’s Khalishpur area yesterday, reports BSS. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the impressive march past as the chief guest.
He congratulated the newly inducted sailors for choosing a profession related to national security and prosperity. The naval chief called upon them to build up their competency through implementing the knowledge that they acquired from the navy academy in their work.
Admiral Nizamuddin urged the sailors to be imbued with the spirit of the freedom fighters and go ahead with determination to defend the independence and sovereignty of the country at any cost.
He also advised them to remain careful in maintaining all naval warships and equipment which is scared deposition of the nation.
Principal staff officers of naval headquarters, commodore commanding of Khulna and local high civil and military officials were also present at the programme.
