A CCTV pilot project was inaugurated on Dhaka-Aricha highway yesterday, aiming to prevent robbery, snatching and other criminal activities, reports UNB.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary inaugurated the project on the compound of Savar Model thana at noon.
Addressing the programme, he said crimes on the highways will come down through installing CCTVs and there is a plan to bring other highways under the CCTV network.
Shah Mizan Safiur Rahman, superintendent of Dhaka district police, presided over the inauguration programme.
