80,000 yaba tablets seized

Cox’s Bazar: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 80,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Jalia Dwip area near the Naf River in Teknaf upazila of Coc’s Bazar on Wednesday night, reports UNB. Major Abdul Hannan, acting commander of BGB Battalion-42, said tipped off that a boat carrying a consignment of yaba tablets was coming on the Naf River from Myanmar, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area at about 9:45 pm. Sensing the presence of the BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee leaving behind a packet containing 80,000 pieces of Yaba tablet. Later, the border force recovered the packet.
