Central leaders of the Awami League-led 14-party alliance will start visiting the flood-affected Kurigram, Gai-bandha, Bogra and Sirajganj districts of the country’s northern region from tomorrw, reports BSS. A press statement issued yesterday by office coordinator of the 14-party alliance and deputy office secretary of Awami League (AL) Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das said that the 14-party leaders will exchange views with locals on the plight of the flood-hit people and distribute relief materials during their visit. AL organising secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, will lead the team of 14-party leaders. Other members of the team are: joint general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Nazmul Haque Prodhan, MP, politburo member of the Workers Party of Bangladesh Aminul Islam Golap, central committee member Nazrul Islam Hakkani, joint general secretary of Gano Azadi League Ataullah Khan, convener of BSD Rezaur Rashid Khan, JP-Manju presidium member Ejaz Ahmed Mukta, presidium members of NAP Lutfur Rahman Ranju, Tarique Md Saiful Islam Liton. Spokesman of the 14-party alliance, AL presidium member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim urged the local leaders and workers of the 14-party alliance in particular and people of the affected district in general to extend their hands of cooperation in the flood relief distribution drive standing beside those hit by the deluge, the statement added.
