Two theatre personalities to attend conference in China

Actor-director-writer and recipient of Ekushey Padak Ataur Rahman, who is known as ‘Mancha Sarathi’, and Dr Israfeel Shaheen, professor of Theatre and Performance Studies, University of Dhaka, have been invited to attend a conference to be held in China. Department of Asian & African Languages and Literatures at Peking University and Jiguang Classic School are hosting the conference titled ‘Tagore and Today’s World’ from June 8 to 11 in Beijing, China. Ataur Rahman and Israfeel Shaheen will leave for Beijing on June 6 to attend the conference.  At the conference, they will deliver lectures on different aspects of Rabindranath Tagore’s creation and will present papers and videos on the practice and progress of Tagore’s plays in Bangladesh.
