National Film Award winning actor Chanchal Chowdhury and lustrous actress Mehazabien Chowdhury have paired up in an Eid telefilm titled ‘Sur Bibagi’, scripted by Brindaban Das and directed by Saidur Rahman Russel. DhakaLive has news that the shooting of the telefilm took place in Pubail on the outskirts of the capital.
‘Sur Bibagi’ narrates a story of a village singer named Bhadu Gayen. He earns his living through singing. While performing at a wealthy man’s house, he falls in love with the wealthy man’s daughter, Sarla. Sarla elopes with Bhadu Gayen on the day of her marriage. However, after some time, Sarla realises that Bhadu Gayen’s entire world is surrounded only by music.
Sarla gives birth to a baby girl at her father’s house and she dies later. But Bhadu Gayen still lives in his own world. He does not even know how his daughter Monica is doing. Later, Monica becomes a singing celebrity and she goes on to search for her father across the country.
In the telefilm, Chanchal Chowdhury will be seen portraying the role of Bhadu Gayen and Mehazabien will be playing the double role of Sarla and her daughter Monica.
Chanchal Chowdhury said, “It does not necessarily mean that only comedy dramas have to be made during Eid. For the sake of entertainment, substandard productions should not be produced. The audiences always want good contents in the story. ‘Sur Bibagi’ is just that kind of story which the viewers always look for.”
“Mehazabien is a good and serious actress than before and her portrayal in tele-drama ‘Boro Chele’ amazed me”, he added.
Mehazabien said, “I have played double role of mother and daughter in the telefilm. I really liked the story. Chanchal Chowdhury is a talented artiste and working with him is always a pleasure.
The telefilm ‘Sur Bibagi’ is scheduled to be telecast on Channel i during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
On the other hand, today is the birthday of Chanchal Chowdhury and he will spend the day in a homely manner. Thus, he will not participate in any shooting today. l
