‘Criminal’ held with arms
OUR CORRESPONDENT, Bogra

Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a ‘notorious’ criminal from Jora Mondalpara in Sajahanpur upazila of Bogra early yesterday. Police also seized foreign liquor and two firearms from his possession.  
The arrestee was Insan Ali, 35, of village Jora Mondalpara in Sajahanpur upazila. Police sources said on secret information, a team of DB led by additional superintendent of Bogra police Md Arifur Rahman Mondal conducted a drive in the arrestee’s house and arrested him with one 7.62 USA made pistol, one Italy made 9 mm pistol, 26 rounds of bullet, 3 magazines, 10 local weapons, 100 pieces of yaba and 10 bottles of foreign liquor. Officer-in-charge Md Abdul Mannan said a case was lodged with Sajahanpur police station in this connection.

Minor girl raped
Benapole: A five year old girl was violated by a youth at Baisha village in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore yesterday, reports UNB. Officer-in-charge of Keshabpur police station Mahatab Uddin said one Raju Ahmed, 20, a resident of the same village, took the girl to a garden and violated her. Hearing her screams, local people rushed to the spot and rescued her but the culprit Raju managed to flee. The victim was rushed to Keshabpur upazila health complex.
A case was filed in this connection.

BKB to disburse Tk 73 cr loan
NARSINGDI: Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Narsingdi region has taken up a plan to distribute Tk 73 crore as agricultural loans among farmers of the district during the current fiscal year, reports BSS.  Official sources said as part of the plan the bank has already disbursed Tk 2.50 crore among the 246 farmers through its 21 branches of the district till August 31. Deputy General Manager of BKB Narsingdi region Gokul Chandra Roy said the bank is providing loan for crop cultivation, pisciculture, livestock sector, poultry farm, purchase of agriculture equipment, small trading and marketing of agricultural products.

Fake RAB man held
OUR CORRESPONDENT, Bogra

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-12), Bogra arrested a fake RAB man from a house of a woman at Godarpara Charmatha area in Bogra town early yesterday.  The arrestee is Faruque Hossain, 35, of Khoksha Jonipur village in Khoksha upazila of Kushtia. Police sources said Faruque Hossain had been cheating people by identifying himself as a member of RAB for a long time.
