�Drug addict� son kills mother

A mother was hacked to death allegedly by her ‘drug addict’ son at village Bhara Madh-yapara in Gafargoan upazila of the district yesterday afternoon. The victim was Joshna Khatun, 50, wife of Abul Kashem of Bhara Madhya-para. Mofazzal Hossain, 28, an alleged drug addict demanded money from his mother Josna.
When she denied to pay the money, Mofazzal hacked his mother indiscriminately with a sharp cutter around 3 pm leaving her dead on the spot, said Md Abu Obaida Khan, officer-in-charge of Gafargoan police station.  Hearing the screams of the victim, local people rushed to the spot and caught Mofazzal and handed him over to police. The body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. No case was lodged and none was arrested till yet.
