The government has undertaken a Tk12,773.37 lakh project for training of poor women across the country to involve them in income generating activities, reports BSS.
State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Begum Meher Afroz Chumki disclosed this in the Jatiya Sangsad, while replying to a question from treasury bench member Mohammad Ilias yesterday.
She said that the project ‘Income Generating Activities (IGA) Training of Women at Upazila Level’ is now pending with the Planning Commission for approval.
“The government has also been implementing various programmes for rural poor women under revenue and development sectors for creating employment facilities along with their welfare,” the state minister added.
