2 children tortured in Laxmipur, Tangail

Two boys were tortured in separate incidents in Laxmipur and Tangail district in past two days.
In Noakhali,  a mentally challenged boy was beaten after being tied up with a pillar over a theft charge at Bangla Bazar under Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur yesterday.
The victim was identified as Yeasin, 8, son of Mostafa of Machimpur village.
Police quoting local people said Yeasin saw two coconuts lying in the orchard of Abdu Salam Patwari at the village and he picked those up yesterday morning.
Abdus Salam caught Yeasin along with the coconuts suspecting him as a chief.  He took the boy to Bangla Bazar and tied him up with a pillar. Later, Salam, Delwar Hossain Patwari and Delwar Hossain beat the boy mercilessly. On information, police rushed in, rescued the boy from the clutches of the torturers and took him to Ramganj Upazila Health Complex.
They also arrested Delwar Hossain, Abdus Salam and Delwar Hossain Patwari in this regard.
In Tangail, an 11-year-boy was sent to Mirzapur Kumuddini Medical College Hospital following torture by a local criminal.
He was identified as Russel, son of Lavlu Mia, hails from Moubasha village of Rangpur district.
Lavlu Mia said Russel took care of a pond owned by Abdul Kader of Hatubangha in the upazila. One identified as Malek while fishing illegally in the pond, Russel protested and forbid him not to catch fish.  Malek being furious took Russel to a nearby jungle and tortured him. He beat Russel and stabbed him with sharp weapon.
