Girl ‘gang raped’ in Gaibandha

A teenage girl has allegedly been gang raped by five young men at Baro Bhatgram village in Sadullapur upazila, reports UNB. A case was filed with Sadullapur Police Station on Monday against the culprits. According to the case statement, the victim had been in love with Sadequl Islam of the same village. On Monday evening, Sadequl called her to his house promising to marry her. As the Class-VIII reached his house, the youth along with his four friends -- Rabbani, Mahin, Nazmul and Mosta -- took her to a sugarcane field and violated her there in turns. As the girl fell sick, the culprits fled the scene leaving her in the sugarcane field. The victim narrated the incident to her family after returning home.
