Spin all-rounder Nasir Hossain is scheduled to fly to Melbourne, Australia in Tuesday mid-night to undergo an operation on his injured right knee ligament what he sustained playing football.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical department selected Australian renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr David Young, who will perform the operation of injured Nasir Hossain.
Dr Young, who earlier had performed operation of Bangladesh one-day captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza along with fast-bowler Mohammad Sharif, Shahadat Hossain Rajib, Mohammad Shohid, Alauddin Babu, is known well to Bangladesh cricket.
This time Dr Young will perform the operation on Nasir Hossain injured right knee ligament. In this regard, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury said that they have got an appointment from Dr Young (on June 8) after communicating with him.
“We had sent reports and other documents to David Young. After scrutinizing all, he gave us a schedule on June 8,” said Dr Debashis Chowdhury.
“He could be performed the operation after seeing him physically in the same day. Even he can’t do it in that day. In that case, he could be given another day for operation,” Debashis told The Independent over phone.
BCB physician informed that Nasir Hossain needed more than over six months to return to the competitive cricket after such type of operation.
