Fire at textile mill in Chattogram
A fire broke out at a textile mill in Kumira Maghpukur area of Chittagong on Tuesday morning. Kafil Uddin, officer of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, said the fire broke out at Royal Knitting Textile Mill around 11 am. On information, nine fighting units rushed to the spot to douse the flame. However, the fire was not brought under control till filing of this report, said Ariful Islam, officer of Kumira Fire Service and Civil Defence office.
Two bodies recovered in Sylhet
Police recovered two bodies from Piyain River in Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet on Tuesday morning. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station. In the morning, locals found the bodies in the river as floating condition and informed police. Being informed, a police team recovered the bodies from the river and sent those to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. It is primarily assumed that the bodies might be of Indian citizens as an tourist boat was capsized in in the rivers Indian part on May 27. Since then some tourists remained missing, the OC added.
Two Gulshan eateries fined
A mobile court on Monday fined Khushbu Biriyani and Restaurant in the capitals Gulshan for using textile dyes for colouring Biriyani and also shut down the kitchen of the eatery. Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted the mobile court along with members of Rab-1 and Sanitary Inspector Abdus Salam of Dhaka North City Corporation. The mobile court started the drive at around 12 noon and it continued till 5 pm.
During the drive, the mobile court found that textile dyes was being used for colour in cooking Biriyani in the kitchen of Khushbu Biriyani and Restaurant located at Road no-90 in Gulshan. Cooked Biriyani was supplied to its two branches in Gulshan, said Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam.
