49 turtles of �rare species� seized in city

Police seized 49 rear species of turtles from Azampur kitchen market in the city’s Dakkhin Khan area yesterday afternoon, reports UNB.
Police also arrested two people in this connection.
Tipped-off, a team of Dakkhin Khan Police Station challenged a microbus near Azampur kitchen market at around 5:30 pm, said officer-in-charge of the police station Shamim-ur-Rashid Talukder.
He said searching the microbus, police recovered 49 turtles of ‘rare species’, kept hidden inside several luggage.
