3 youths arrested with yaba
Detective Branch (DB) police arrested three youths with 500 pieces of yaba tablets in Shalbagan more area under Boalia police station in Rajshahi early yesterday.
The arrested were identified as Muktaruzzaman, 28, son of Humayun, Islmail, 20, son of Ibrahim and Parvej, 22, son of Astar Ali. On a tip-off, a police team conducted a sudden raid at the area at around 5.30 am and arrested them with the contraband item along with Taka 20,000 in cash.
The seized goods and arrested persons were handed over to the police.
13 muggers held in Ctg
Police in separate drives in different parts of Chittagong city arrested 13 alleged muggers early yesterday.
During the dive they recovered nine mobile sets and four knives from the muggers. Kowtali police sources said that being informed a group of youth gathered for snatching in Railway CRB area on early Wednesday, police conducted a drive at CRB Kather Bungalow area and arrested five muggers along with five mobile sets.
9 medicine shops fined
A mobile court yesterday in Dewanbazar, Enayatbazar and Bakalia areas of the city fined nine medicine shops to Tk 59,000 for keeping date-expired medicines, selling doctors sample and sealed off three more shops for not keeping drugs licenses. Chittagong administrative magistrate and deputy revenue collector Ruhul Amin led the drive. During the mobile court huge amount of banned physicians samples were seized. During the mobile court K.M Muhsinin Mahmub, superintend of drugs of Chittagong was present.
HSC results of 46 changed
The Sylhet Board announced the HSC results afresh yesterday after the reevaluation of their answer scripts.
About 12,582 examinees applied for reevaluation the examination papers. Of them, 46 examinees have got their results changed, 5 got GPA-5 and 14 examinees were succeeding from failed.
