SYLHET: A woman was beaten allegedly by the owner of a tailoring shop she used to work for in the city’s Ambarkhana area on Tuesday, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Nazma Akhter, 30, a resident of Shekhghat of the city.
Police and locals said Nazma used to take order from ‘Tapu Tailors’ adjacent to Ambarkhana Government Colony in the city and work from her house.
Nazma had an altercation with the shop owner, Tapu, when he revoked her for her failure to complete the worker order in time.
When Nazma started for her house from the shop, Tapu chased her and caught her in front of Ambarkhana Central Plaza.
Later, the shop owner beat her indiscriminately pushing her onto the ground.
Hearing her screams, a patrol team of police rushed in and took both of them to the police station.
Contacted, officer-in-charge of Airport police station Gausul Azam said the matter was settled at the police station.
