2 Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed in Central African Republic

Two Bangladeshi peacekeepers, working in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) were killed and two other were injured in a road crash yesterday. The deceased were identified as Soldier Arjan Hawlader (34 East Bengal) and Soldier Md Ripul Miah (35 div locating battery Artillery) were killed while Soldier Md Jamal Uddin Mollah (34 East Bengal) and Soldier Md Muzahidul Islam were injured after losing control of a wood-laden heavy vehicle at the Yaloke area of Central African Republic at 6.45pm yesterday. The injured peacekeepers are now undergoing treatment at a hospital at Bangui city of the African country. All of the blue helmets were working under the unit of BANBAT-4 in the peacekeeping mission. Bangladesh army has expressed grave shock over the deaths.
