Man killed ‘by son’in Tangail

A man was killed allegedly by his son in Tangail yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Jabbar Ali, 65, of village Kachina in Kalihati upazila of Tangail district.

Police arrested the son Billal Hossain, 28 in this connection.

Meer Mosarraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kalihati Police Station said there was a long standing dispute between father and son since wife of Billal left home.

Billal pressed his father to bring back his wife and was disappointed. As a sequel of this discord Billal hacked his father when he came out of his room in the morning. Jabbar Ali died on the spot.

Police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Medical College Hospital for autopsy. A case was lodged with Kalihati Police Station in this connection.
