Nazmul Islam Apu so far played seven T20 internationals for Bangladesh after being stepped into the national fold in 2018 but his new celebration in cricket known him well to cricket fans across the world.
Even though his celebration was first shown in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) while he was playing for Rajshahi Kings but the celebration got a new height when he played for the national team.
The fame of the new celebration crossed the boundary when all the players and coaching staffs of Bangladesh started dancing as if ‘Nagin’ after outclassing the hosts Sri Lanka at their own yard.
Bangladesh broke the calculation of all and reached the final of the Nidahas Cup Trophy by beating the hosts Islanders but they finally failed to pull off the result in favour of them against India after giving a tough fight.
The left-arm spinner Nazmul called up for the successive third series and expressed his desires to celebrate it in different way ahead.
“My first work is to bowl well in field and take wickets. And then it’ll turn for celebration what will be done after taking wicket,” said Nazmul Islam Apu.
“Inshaallah, I’m hopeful our practice is going on well. We’ve good enough confidence. We’ll do better. This time it’ll be more celebration,” Apu told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
The 27-year-old Apu said that he will attempt to do his best for the team to cement his place as a spinner in the team.
“After the performance in BPL, I got chance to play against Sri Lanka at home and away (Nidahas Cup Trophy). Unfortunately I missed to perform in two occasions. It’s cricket where in such might be happened. Inshaallah, I’ll try my best to do for the country,” he said.
