Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) on Sunday urged NBR to reduce the individual tax rate from existing highest 30 per cent to 25 per cent and expand the tax net to collect more revenue, a press statement said. It also urged NBR to reduce the corporate tax to a reasonable level in order to attract both local and foreign investments.
The ICSB made the plea when a delegation of the ICSB comprising of Mohammad Asad Ullah, Azizur Rahman, AKM Mushfiqur Rahman, Gopal Chandra Debtath, and Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, met with Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR), at his Office, Segunbagicha in the capital on Sunday.
The Chairman assured them that all out measures would be taken by NBR to include the ICSB profession as authorized representative under the Income Tax Ordinance 1984 and Mushuk Agent under VAT Act, 2012, the statement added.
