Every year, Channel i premieres a number of films for its local and international audience during two Eid festivals. This year too, the list of films for television premiere appears abundant with six much-anticipated films.
On the day of Eid, feature film titled ‘Kaler Putul’ (Dangling by a String) directed by Aka Reza Ghalib will be premiered at 2:30pm. Inspired by Agatha Christie’s 1939 mystery novel ‘And Then There Were None’, the film stars Ferdous Ahmed, Raisul Islam Asad, Ashish Khandakar, Bithi Rani Sarkar, Jannatun Noor Moon, Arif Orko, Shahed Ali, Lutfar Rahman George and Reetu Sattar, among others.
On the second of Eid at 10:15 am, ‘Dula Bhai Zindabad’, a full length action drama film starring notorious villain of Dhallywood Monowar Hossain Dipjol, will be aired. This time around, Dipjol will not appear as a villain; rather he will play the male lead in the film. Popular actress Mousumi plays the role of his wife Jyotsna, and Bidya Sinha Saha Mim plays the role of Jyotsna’s sister named Jamuna. Directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar, the film has been produced by Nadir Khan, while the dialogue and screenplay of the film are written by Abdullah Zahir Babu.
On the third day of Eid, National Film Award winning actress Zakia Bari Mamo-starrer latest film ‘Altabanu’ will be aired at 10:15am. Directed by Arun Chowdhury, the other important cast of the film includes Naresh Bhuiyan, Saberi Alam, Ahsanul Haq Minu, Mamunur Rashid, Shamima Nazneen, Raisul Islam Asad and others.
National Film Award-winning filmmaker Zakir Hossain Raju-directed ‘Bhalo Theko’, starring Dhallywood heartthrob Arifin Shuvo and actress Tanha Tasnia in the lead roles, will be aired at 10:15am on the fourth day of Eid. Written jointly by Zakir Hossain Raju and Delwar Hossain Dil, Bhalo Theko’ is a romantic drama film.
‘Khacha’—a full-length feature film, which has received a grant from the government, will be aired on the fifth day of Eid at the same time. Jaya Ahsan, Chandni, Azad Abul Kalam, Arman Parvez Murad, Kayes Chowdhury, Mahbuba Rezanur, Sadika Rahman Raisa and Mamunur Rashid, among others, have enacted different roles in the film. Azad Abul Kalam has acted opposite Jaya in the film. In the story of the film, Hindu families from East Bengal move to India after the partition in 1947.
On the sixth day, Sajedul Awwal’s film ‘Chitkini’ (‘Rest in Silence’) will be aired at the same time. The film stars Runa Khan, Manas Bandopadhyay, Bhaswar Bandyopadhyay, Aminur Rahman Mukul and Mustagisur Rahman, among others.
