Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of tourist police, Md Sohrab Hossain died of cardiac arrest today at a city hospital. He was 56, reports BSS Sohrab breathed his last around 10:15 this morning at Monwara Hospital, said an official release. Sohrab, who joined the police force as assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in 1986 left behind a son and three daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
His namaj-e-janaja was held at SI (Sub Inspector) Shiru Mia Auditorium of Rajarbagh Police Lines after Asr pryer. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary was present at the janaja. The police chief conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of Sohrab's departed soul.
