MSC post fifth win in premier hockey league

Rusel Mahmud Jimmy and Arbindar Singh slammed a hat-trick each as Mohammedan Sporting Club grabbed their fifth win in the Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League after trouncing Azad Sporting Club  by 8-1.

Held at the Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium, in the day’s first match Russel Mahmud Jimmy scored four goals and Arabindar Singh scored three while Nasir Hossain added one goal for Mohammedan.

Jimmy initiated the scoring in the ninth minute with scoring a beautiful field goal from the first move of the day and Arabindar Sing doubled the advantage three minutes later converting a penalty corner (2-0).

Jimmy and Arabindar struck again when they converted a penalty corner each in a span of four minutes with Jimmy sounded the board on 20 and Arabindar on 24th to make the tally 4-0 and Nasir Hossain, who joined the celebration made it 5-0 on 30th minute.

Debashish reduced one goal from Azad scoring two minutes before to go for break (1-5).

After taking the 5-1 lead Mohammed came again in action to increase the margin with jimmy completed his hattrick on 51st minute converting another PC (6-1) while the captain of the national team scored his fourth and the seventh for the team in style with a solo effort (7-1).

Indian recruit Aranbindar Singh completed his hattrick at the late hour of the match and finish the match on 8-1.

Mohammedan, won their previous four matches against Ajax Sporting Club, Sadharan Bima, Victoria Sporting Club and Wari Club.
