JU gets 12 gold medals in inter-varsity games
Jahangirnagar University (JU) achieved a total of 12 gold medals in swim competition of Inter-University Games -2018. On behalf of the university, Mahfijur Rahman, of history department took part at 12 events of the competition and gained gold medals in all the events. After the tournament, in a courtesy call, Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Farzana Islam congratulated him for his grand achievement on behalf of the university. During the call, Acting Director of JU Physical Education Department Habiba Yeasmin and officials were present among others. Earlier, the Inter-university swimming competition was held on May 3 and 4.
SUB clinch inter-uni T20 tourney
Southern University of Bangladesh (SUB) emerged champions of the Inter University T20 Cricket competition beating Premier University by 7 wickets in the final of the tournament at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Sunday. Southern University of Bangladesh won the match by 7 wickets remaining 3.1 overs while the opposition scored 114 run for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Ripon scored maximum 59 runs for SUB while Sanif, Nayeem and Mahedi of the same university got one wicket each in the final. At the end of the final, Chittagong City Corporation mayor and general secretary of CJKS, AJM Nasir Uddin distributed the trophy and crests among the players as a chief guest while Chittagong Divisional Sports Association Vice-President Ali Abbas with the chair.
