Shaheda struck a couple of goals and assisted one, as Tangail district emerged champions of the JFA Cup Under-14 Women Football Championship when they blanked Thakurgaon district by 3-0 in the final yesterday at the Bir Sreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium. Tangail, who had the better possessions in the first half, played with attacking mood almost throughout the game, Thakurgaon trailing by a 0-2 in the first half trying to bounce back in the second half and played almost evenly but failed to overpower and conceded another goal.
However, Tangail took the led on 25th minute through Shaheda when her back header on a long ball from midfield went into the top corner of the net giving no chance to Thakurgaon keeper (1-0).
Shaheda doubled her score as well as for the team on 35th minute, this time she fired home on a Rehana cross from inside the box (2-0).
Unnuti scored the third goal for Tangail in style with a solo effort when she ran faster than the opponents’ markers after receiving a ball from Shaheda and sent the ball into open net when the goalkeeper advanced leaving the post open on 40th minute (3-0).
Shaheda received the prize of the best player of final when FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, the operative director of the Walton distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
