Savar: Two workers died and another fell sick after inhaling toxic gas at a tannery unit of Savar Tannery Industrial Estate here on Wednesday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Mahbubur Rahman, 50, and Hasan Ali, 24. Police said the three workers of Prince Leather Industries fell sick inhaling toxic gas as soon as they opened the slid of a chemical drum around 3pm.
Of them, Hasan died on the way to hospital while Mahbub was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital. Moazzem who fell sick was undergoing treatment at the DMCH intensive care unit. Inspector Golam Nabi, in-charge of Tannery Police Outpost, said they visited the spot.
