Schoolboy hacked dead in Dhaka

A schoolboy was hacked to death by two youths at Joar Sahara in the capital on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Jihad, 17, son of Alamgir Hossain, hailing from Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj district. He appeared at this year’s SSC examination from Kalachadpur High School.

Jihad went to locals Hridoy and Biplab seeking money they borrowed from him.

However, they locked into an altercation with him and at one stage, the duo hacked Jihad in the abdomen, leaving him critically injured. Locals took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 9:50 pm, said sub-inspector Bachchu Mia of the DMCH police camp.
