Cop among 3 held with yaba tablets

Police arrested three people including a police constable with yaba tablets from Naumahal Saroda Ghosh Road area in Mymensingh town on Wednesday night. The arrestees are-police constable Muksedul Islam, 32, and his accomplices-Sourav, 20, of Mymensingh town and Debashish, 25, of Sunamganj district, police sources said. Muksedul Islam was posted at Mymensingh Police Lines, said police sources.

On information, a police team raided the rented house of the constable in Naumahal Saroda Ghosh Road area around 9pm and arrested them, said Khandaker Shaker Ahmed, officer-in-charge (Investigation)  of Kotwali Police Station. Police also seized 800 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession, the OC said.

The arrestees were produced before a Mymensingh court yesterday that sent them to jail, said the official.
