Ashiq finishes 1st in 72nd world long distance swimming

Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman of Bangladesh became first in the 72nd World Long Distance (81 kilo metre) Swimming Championship held in Bhagarathi River, Murshida-bad, India, yesterday. The second spot also went to  Faisal Ahmed of Bangladesh, according to a Bangladesh Swimming Federation press release.
Palash Chowdhury, another Bangladesh natant, finished second in the 19 kilo metre event. Four male and two female swimmers represented the country in the Indian meet.
