BFF admits its inadvertent mistake

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) did a big blunder as it had ‘forgotten’ to inscribe players’ name on the back of the jerseys. Though it is not mandatory to inscribe players’ name on the back of the jersey but it is a regular practice to bear the name of the concerned player on his jersey.
The BFF did not bother to follow the convention during the recently held FIFA World Cup qualifying matches at home and abroad. Bangladesh played against Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at home and against Australia on September 3 in Perth. Though it averted the eyes of  Dhaka crowd during the Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan matches as they did not bring the issue to BFF’s notice. Probably the Dhaka crowd hardly get an opportunity to watch international matches and that’s why they overlooked BFF’s fault.
But the learned soccer fans and experts did not hesitate to raise their voice in Perth. They widely discussed it and strongly showed their anger over the issue during the Perth match as they faced problem to identify the Bangladesh players who played their first ever international match against Australia. Normally the players names were inscribed on the back of the jersey to facilitate the crowd as well as the broadcasters to easily recognise the players. However, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag admitted the mistake and said, “It was an inadvertent mistake. No one was responsible for it somehow it escaped our eyes.” “Now we took the matter seriously and I can assure the media that there will be players’ name on the back of the jersey from the next match against Jordan to be held in Dhaka on September 8,” Sohag concluded. Bangladesh team leader Iqbal Hossain echoed the same to this correspondent and said, “Yes we did a mistake and from next match there will be no more error.”
