Punishment to culprit demanded

A human-chain was formed yesterday deman-ding punishment to the culprit who assaulted a schoolgirl in Habiganj recently. The authorities of Habiganj Girls High School organised the programme in front of the school in Habiganj town yesterday morning. The students of the Habiganj Girls High School and College also participated in the human chain programme. The speakers at the programme urged the law enforcing agencies to give exemplary punishment to the offender.
A student of class-IX by the name of Ruhul Amin of Habiganj High School and College assaulted a girl of the same school in broad daylight on the road in front of the institution on August 26. A video clip of the incident, captured by one of his friends as planned by Ruhul Amin, was posted on a timeline of social media `facebook on September 3. Ruhul Amin has been teasing the girl for a long time, the family members of the assaulted girl claimed. S team of Habiganj police, led by office in-charge Nazim Uddin, raided Richi village in Habiganj sadar and arrested Ruhul Amin at 1 pm on September 4. He was sent to children development centre in Gazipur following an order passed by District and Sessions Judge Moham-mad Atab Ullah on September 5.
