A Rohingya woman was killed and four people were injured in a clash between two groups of Myanmar's displaced nationals at a camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Ansar Begum, 35, wife of M Ilias of Block-B of Nayapara Rohingya camp.
Officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station Ranjit Barua said an altercation ensued between two groups of Rohingyas around 3pm over setting up a shop at the camp.
Later, the feuding groups engaged in a clash when they attacked each other with sharp weapons, he said, adding that Ansar Begum died on the spot and four other Rohingyas suffered injuries in the clash.
The injured were taken to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.
