CVASU admission test November 7
CHITTAGONG: The admission test for the first-year honours courses at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) under 2015-16 academic sessions will be held on November 7.
Assistant Director (public relations and protocol) of CVASU Khalilur Rahman said the admission process will begin from September 10 to October 25.
Admission seekers will have to register for the test by sending a message (SMS) through any number of telecom operator Teletalk, he said, adding that an eligible candidate would have to answer English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in the admission test.

Freshers’ orientation held at NSU
An orientation programme for the undergraduate students of North South University (NSU) for fall semester-2015 was held on its campus at Bashundhara in the capital yesterday, says a press release.
MA Kashem, chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU and former President of FBCCI, was the chief guest where Gour Gobinda Goswami, vice chancellor (In-charge) chaired the ceremony. MA Hashem and Rehana Rahman, member, Board of Trustees, attended as the guest of honour. Selim Sarwar, dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences; U Ahsan, dean, School of Health & Life Sciences; Md Sirajul Islam, dean, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences; M Mahboob Rahman, dean, School of Business and Economics; M Emdadul Haq, director (Student Affairs), Md Shahjahan, registrar and Syed Kamrul Islam, proctor, addressed the prgramme, among others. A cultural session was held after formal session.
EWU holds orientation programmes
Freshers orientation programmes for the students of East West University (EWU) for Fall Semester-2015 on its campus at Aftabnagar, Dhaka yesterday, says a press release.
Every department of the university organised individual programme for their newly admitted students. More than 700 students got admitted at the graduate and undergraduate programmes in 11 different departments in this semester.
The objective of the programmes was to welcome the new students and orient them to the university facilities, faculty members and academic system.
The Department of Economics organised an orientation programme where Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of Board of Trustees, who is also advisor and visiting professor of the department, was the chief guest. Speakers welcomed freshers on the EWU campus and encouraged them to work hard, be worthy citizens of the country. They urged the newly admitted students to make the best use of the university resources and emphasized the need for high ethical standards.
