DB man held with ‘4,000 yaba pills’ in Cumilla

Cumilla: Police arrested a member of Detective Branch (DB) of police and his accomplice allegedly along with 4,000 yaba pills from Katherpool area in Chandina upazila on Tuesday night.

The arrestees are Nasir Uddin, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Rangamati DB and an inhabitant of Dotala village in the upazila, and Kawsar hailing from Pratappur village in Sadar Dakkhin upazila.

A team of police intercepted the duo on Dhaka-Chattogram highway while they were going to Chandina by a motorcycle.

After searching their bodies, the law enforcers recovered the yaba tablets and detained them.

Officer-in-charge of Chandina Police Station Mohammad Ali Mahmud said they were investigating the incident.
