SUST official stabbed near campus

SYLHET: An official of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) sustained stab injuries in an attack by some miscreants at Dhamali Para near the campus on Wednesday, reports UNB.

University sources said a group of miscreants swooped on Abul Kashem, an instrument engineer officer of SUST Civil and Environment Engineering Department and a resident of Dhamalipara, on way to his home in the evening and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him injured.

He was taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. The victim said some young people have been demanding extortion from him for last few days. As he refused to pay the extortion, they attacked him, he said.
