SAVAR,: Agitated workers of a readymade garment factory demonstrated in front of the factory in Arapara area here on Thursday morning demanding due salaries, reports UNB.
Agitating workers said about 600 workers of Abbas Apparel Garments did not get salaries for last three months. The authorities were scheduled to pay their due salaries on Thursday.
But, the officials did not come to the factory, even locked the main gate of the factory in the morning, workers said.
Later, the workers took position in front of the factory saying that they would not leave the premises until their salaries are paid.
The workers complained that they have to pass days in miseries. The also claimed that their landlords were driving them out of their homes for the rent.
The agitated workers also demanded intervention of the concern authorities.
Meanwhile, additional police forces were deployed in front of the factory to avoid any untoward incident.
